Can You Mix Black and Brown?

These sandals were a “love at first sight” item. I put them on and instantly knew they were going to be a part of my summer of 2014.

The color is neutral and the style is comfortable…kinda like when I dated that super sexy nerd I knew wouldn’t cheat on me. They’re a safe fun option!

The question every woman has asked themselves at some point?

“Can I mix black and brown?”

I secretly love that about 10 years ago I was told by someone “of fashion authority” that a lady should never mix black and brown. Well, to be quite frank, that is all I needed to hear in order for me to embrace the two colors simultaneously! Cause dang nabit, if you are telling me I can’t wear two colors together, then my inner Catholic tends to bubble up and say, “Watch me!”

I love these two colors together! And yes, I just posted about embracing a lighter color palette for spring. But in my mind, black is always “in.” Just be sure to style it using appropriate accessories for spring (open toed sandals) and you’ll be fine.
