Casual Friday + Moments of the Week

“Umm, Marion? You wore that dress in Wednesday’s post.”

Yes. Yes I did. But I wanted to show how versatile this thing is! These photos were taken on Sunday as we began a more casual day of Costco shopping strolling the Las Vegas Fashion Show Mall lunch with the husband and baby. Also known as the same thing we do every Sunday!

MOMENTS OF THE WEEK:

“What Would Men Do Without Us” Moments

Moment #1:

A male friend called me this week to catch up. We talked about random stuff and laughed at each other jokes because that is what we do. And then THIS nugget of conversational gold was produced:

Male: “So how is Cooper doing?”

Me: “Oh, it’s been a rough week. His molars are coming in so he has been in some pain.”

several moments of silence

Me: “You there?”

Male: “Yeah…I just don’t get it. What do you mean his molars are coming in? Are you talking about teeth?”

Me: “Um, yes. Not sure I know what is so confusing here…”

Male: “Why are they just now coming in? Isn’t he like a year old?”

All of a sudden it hits me…he thinks babies are BORN with all of their teeth!!

Me: “You DO know that babies aren’t born with teeth, right?”

Male: “WHAT? They aren’t?! Wait…that makes no sense. How do they eat?”

And yes…he was totally serious. (And as a side note, could you imagine how freaky a newborn baby would look with a mouthful of teeth!? Ha!)

Moment #2:

Poor Penny went in to the vet this week to be fixed. The next morning, as I’m sitting in my morning meeting I receive the following text from my husband:

Seriously? Needless to say, I will be administering all future medication in the household.

Movin’ Out Moment

As many of you know from Monday’s post, I handed in my resignation this week.

Very bittersweet. I won’t get into all of the messy feelings right now, but I really want to tell you thank you for helping me take this leap. I re-read so many of your comments as I boxed up my books and supplies, as they helped to calm me and restore hope that I am making the right decision.

Unless we’re talking about bed sheets or Cooper’s diaper, change is scary. Perhaps it’s just the ‘not knowing’ that produces the most anxiety? In any case, this is happening and my fear is slowly being replaced with enthusiasm and a feeling of hope! So thank you

Have an awesome weekend and thanks as always for reading,

Marion
