Mom's Wedding reception dress worn in 1977
Feather Hair Piece & Earrings: Forever 21
Bracelet: c/o Swarovski
On Sunday, February 10, we will welcome the year of the Snake! Last year one of my readers,
Shirley asked if she'd see me in a Qipao, traditional Chinese Dress. Generally speaking, a Qipao is custom tailored to your measurements, you select the fabric, length, trimmings, and so forth. And, in our culture the most common events to wear a Qipao to is your wedding reception or New Year. In 1977, when my parents got married, this was the Qipao my Mom had custom made.
Traditional top, with a modern skirt silhouette, absolutely her style! Happy Chinese New Year! Curious about the Chinese Zodiac, find out here
