six.

Six years ago (plus a few weeks), I opened up Blogger and started this blog. It had an ugly purple background with just text for the header. A few days later, my first baby was born. He was beautiful.

Carter was born on August 29th, 2008, which means that I now have a 6-year-old!

Carter, when you were born, you made me a mom. You had big blue eyes and looked around at everything and everyone. The number one word people used to describe you was “alert!”

Fast forward 6 years, and you are just as alert as ever. Smart, funny, very outgoing, and observant of the world around you.

You are so loved. 6 years. That’s about a third of the time I get to have you for my very own. Phew, let’s do less math. That’s scary math.

But for now you are 6. You are in 1st grade. You love Legos, Angry Birds, and Plants V. Zombies. You can read and do math, and you have a crush on a girl named Emma (who thinks you are “funny and cool”).

You play soccer, watch Zack Scott, and eat all the sweets we’ll allow (more at Gramma’s house). You bring happiness to everyone around you, and we love watching you grow.

You’re a sweet little guy, and we couldn’t be happier that you’re ours! Happy birthday, Carter!
