The Perfect Proposal Years in the Making!

Here at SMP we love a good proposal story, and this one is legendary. Long before he met the woman of his dreams, this hopeless romantic started an engagement piggybank (at age 12!) and began to save for that special day. And after four years of long distance dating 17 months of planning, he enlisted the help of Candlelight Films to capture an elaborate scavenger hunt that leads back to where the couple first met. Keep some tissues handy and watch it all unfold for yourself.

From Candlelight Films... 4 years, 9 months, and 13 days ago a girl from Michigan State first met a guy from Fresno State at the Rose Bowl in LA. Their entire conversation lasted about a minute and a half. “What’s your name? Where are you from? Are you excited about the game?” That’s about it. After multiple run ins throughout that year without keeping in touch, they finally exchanged numbers when they crossed paths in Washington D.C., almost a year after they first met at the Rose Bowl.

Tiffany and Levy dated long distance, from SoCal to Michigan, for 3.5 years. Skype dates, phone calls, 350,000 sky miles, and lots of missing each other is tough for hopeless romantics. Levy knew that when he found the girl of his dreams that he wanted to pop the question in a great way. He had actually started his proposal piggy bank at twelve years old! After meeting Tiffany and realizing she was the one for him, he started planning the perfect proposal in his head.

Finding a date that would work with the schedules of thirty friends and family from all over the country, as well as keeping it a surprise, were the hardest parts of planning the proposal. Levy called Candlelight Films and asked us to create a video of the proposal 17 months ago. At that time he already knew he wanted to propose where they first met, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The date would be set months after our initial conversation once the UCLA football schedule was released.

Tiffany, a master’s student at the University of Florida, thought she was flying to Levy’s hometown to attend a military event for his father. She woke up on a normal Tuesday, just as she always does when visiting Levy’s family. Watch the video to see what happened instead!
