From Jessica of A Vintage AffairWhen we began the design process, we knew we wanted to create something understated, romantic, and elegant for their mountain celebration. Caitlin and Jimmer chose the mountains of Estes Park because they wanted a weekend event, but also because Estes held a special place in their hearts. It is the place of their very first vacation together, and more since. It had also held so many memories for them and promised more in their future, starting with their wedding. This wedding was the perfect reflection of them as a couple – genuine and caring. They took every step to make sure everyone felt included and knew how much their presence meant to them. It was one of the most heartfelt days I’ve ever been a part of.

Caitlin’s Hayley Paige gown could not have been a better fit. The lace bodice with an organza overlay gave the lace a layered, delicate effect. Cocktail hour was held on a covered deck with sweeping views of the valley. Custom-made pink and white chiffon draping framed the beams. Chiffon linens covered the cocktail tables, giving them an airy and simple look. Bistro lights added the perfect ambiance, and also allowed for dancing to take place al fresco.

The reception was full of classic touches that included silver and crystal taper candles down the head table. Each place setting had a pink napkin with a menu tucked in, and the escort card was tied with delicate ribbon and a sprig of rosemary. The lovely cake table held a trio of small cakes adorned with flowers with a calligraphed mirror with a quote by Walt Whitman that read “We were together, I forget the rest.” For the guest book, guests filled out vintage Colorado postcards that the maid of honor is going to be mailing to the couple randomly during their first year of marriage. Even the cocktail napkins were a special detail – the bride’s mother sewed the linen napkins herself.

From Tricia of Violet Floral DesignThe moment I caught a glimpse of Caitlin and Jimmer’s color palette and floral vision, I knew we were going to be the perfect match! The timeless, romantic, soft style they had been dreaming of was something I had also been hoping to create in the mountains.

I cherish any opportunity to work with my dear and talented friend, Jessica, from A Vintage Affair. She has beautiful taste and we have a similar design style, so the mention of bursting Peonies and creamy Garden Roses had us both giddy with excitement. Rich fabrics and lush garlands were the perfect for the natural pergola nestled into the mountainside. The pathway to ceremony site was complemented by calligraphy signs and bay leaves. For the reception, there was a mixture of garlands and a gorgeous collection of mismatched vessels filled with a soft blend of Eucalyptus varieties, Sarah Bernhardt Peonies, Lillian Wild Peonies, Garden Roses and Ranunculus. Connie Dai Photography captured the day exquisitely. It is always a treat to have her skilled lens capture my work.
