Trousers

I have a few sewing and knitting projects that I finished a month ago but haven't rolled them out on to the blog yet. Illustrating and sewing some more has been keeping me busy in the best way. So, today I'm showing you these trousers that I made for my sister's school uniform back in late Feb.
The pair that she had before was store-bought and didn't give her the best fit. On top of that, they were a bit worn down so she was in need of a new one. So, as any girl with a sewing sister would do, she asked me to make her a pair. We got all her measurements and I drafted the pattern. I made a muslin and did a couple of fittings to get everything just right and then moved into making the final garment.

Not to boast about it, but I really surprised myself with how they turned out. I was especially surprised because I though getting the right fit was going to be a pain, but it wasn't so bad.

These might not be the most glamorous garment but it is very functional and nothing brings a smile to my face quite like seeing my sis wearing them every day.

{ a snapshot from when I was making them.}
