Chloe Jacket Sewing Project: Inspiration

It's been a while since I shared the progress of a sewing project from start to finish. The first and last time I did, it was all about my navy blue dress. As I was going through those posts yesterday evening, not only did I remember how much fun I had documenting it's creation, but I also realized that having those posts on my blog has helped me remember a lot of things about making the dress that I would have otherwise forgotten.
I am currently making a jacket, so there is no better time to start blogging about the process of creating a garment than right now!
The blazer will be a cross between maritime preppy nerd on the outside and dainty and sweet on the inside. It'll be structured, made out of a medium weight marine blue fabric, and with white and light blue floral lining as a sweet and girly detail.
So far I've drafted the patterns and made the muslin (or toile, whichever you prefer). I did my first fitting last weekend and I cut the interfacing Sunday night. The sleeves on the technical drawings are a bit narrow and wonky but you get the general idea.

Now I am off to cut my fabric. Have a great Monday!
