When I saw the Balenciaga Spring Summer 2014 collection for the first time (I believe I saw it on my iPhone in between hopping from show to show in Paris) I immediately loved it. Actually I have always liked Balenciaga – from the moment I bought my first Balenciaga item – but I always saw its menswear collections as very good, rather than perfect.
That was until this season. For Spring Summer 2014 Alexander Wang created such a strong collection, full of the essentials every man should have in his closet. The color palette basically consists of black and grey – and not blue, according to me the color of the season – which makes the collection even more timeless.
Besides being a big fan of the collection, I was absolutely blown away by the campaign I saw yesterday. Last season the menswear campaigns were quite ehh.. boring – with a few exceptions of course – but it seems that this season will output much more interesting advertisements. Because yes everybody, this is how a menswear campaign is done.
