Festival Style with Old Navy

After taking it seriously easy during our first few days at home, Parker and I have been venturing out more this week. I’ve been looking for any excuse to get outdoors and enjoy this sunny weather which has meant trips to the coffee shop, al fresco lunches in the neighborhood, and some meandering afternoon walks. That’s the best part about spring, isn’t it? Beautiful weather abounds and between music festivals and spring vacations there is always a reason to get outside. Just because you won’t be making the drive to Indio this weekend for Coachella doesn’t mean you can’t channel that sunny bohemian style for whatever your weekend may hold. After all, my own personal Coachella looks a lot more like lullabies sung in the wee hours of the night than singing along to Haim in the desert these days.

The anatomy of festival style? A look that’s practical enough to weather the long sunny days spent amongst the crowds of festival goers, but also stylish enough to make the post-weekend Coachella fashion round ups. Personally, I don’t like to spend a lot on these sorts of looks. You’re going to be in a dusty field or hanging in the grass for hours on end so why splurge? A few light layers go a long way. I love this swingy dolphin hem skirt from Old Navy for the fact that it can transition between tees and more dressed up pieces depending on the occasion. I paired it with this bohemian tunic to keep it light and airy up top and layered it with this faded denim vest for good measure. I’ve been wearing this vest with EVERYTHING! I love it over a simple summer dress to give it a bit of an edge and make it a little less girly-girl. What could possible be more practical meets stylish than a great hat?

Whether your weekend line up includes Lorde and Foster the People or casual al fresco meals amongst friends, I hope it’s a great one!
