I mentioned in an earlier post that I'd started a new Christmas Eve tradition with my mam a couple of years ago. It started as an excuse to get out of the house after spotting an offer on gel manicures at the Mal Spa. Now, it's become a yearly treat to venture out together on Christmas Eve to indulge ourselves. Since we'd opted for just normal Nails Inc manicures (I figured my nails could probably do with a break from shellac), we decided to head over to Malmaison to enjoy their Champagne Afternoon Tea. With fresh scones, meringues loaded with cream and strawberries, a selection of delicious sandwiches, two pots of tea and glasses of bubbly, it was more than enough for the two of us. And judging by the size of the doggy bag we took home for the boys, we definitely could've shared one! It also meant we felt a little bit less guilty about our girly afternoon and leaving them at home surrounded by wrapping paper...
