There's nothing I love more than playing dress up. Or parties. So when Lauren (the brains behind Scran on the Tyne, THE premier food blog in the Toon), invited me along to French Connection on Thurs night for their Can't Help My Selfie event, I knew I was in for a treat. Having been approached by French Connection to take part in the campaign as their Georgie blogger, Lauren was tasked with helping the Newcastle event get off the ground. With goodies that looked too good to eat from the Pet Lamb lasses, delicious bite-sized treats from Gusto, fruit ciders and a DJ dancing around, she definitely pulled out all the stops. But then again, knowing Lauren's knack for party planning, I didn't expect any less.

Taking place in the Newcastle store, we got to browse the new collection before selecting our outfit for the evening. I've always been a fan of French Connection and this season's offering is something to behold. With signature classic shapes, gorgeous textures and some beautiful prints, I felt like a kid in a sweet shop. Although it didn't take me long to select a very Chanel inspired pink boucle short and jacket suit, and a two-tone black and white sandals (which I now NEED). Then we headed upstairs to have a little pampering, starting with having our hair done by the team from Regis and makeup from the Benefit ladies. After being touched up and having my hair swept up into a modern beehive, I was feeling a bit more confident, so me and Sarah headed into the selfie booth to start snapping away!

Can't Help My Selfie is all about letting you be the star of French Connection's store windows. The idea is you choose your favourite pieces from their SS/14 collection, take a selfie in one of their booths then have it projected for the whole high street to see... Although having a big selfie projected onto Northumberland Street didn't seem overly appealing, once me and Sarah got into the fun (and picked out our outfits), we soon came around to the idea. Plus the prize for the best selfie is a £1,000 shopping spree! Not bad for a quick snap, eh? I'd say vote for mine but actually Sarah's is doing class.. and she's promised me a pair of shoes if she wins. So in the interest of footwear and friendship, VOTE BOSSON!
