lion maggie mae dress

Little Miss C has been a little obsessed with what she calls “THE ROAR SONG!”, her birthday party theme only made that obsession deeper. I had some of this gorgeous Cotton & Steel lion fabric in my stash, and when she walked into my sewing room and flipped out with excitement while I was cutting it out, I knew I made the right choice! She loves her new dress!

I knew I needed a simple pattern to show off the fabric, but also break it up a little since it’s very bold.

So I went with the Maggie Mae! Haven’t sewn it up in awhile, and now Ava’s wearing the only one I’ve made, so it was due time! I wasn’t sure what size to make for her but I went with a 5 to be sure it fit. It’s a bit wide in the bodice but it fits ok, and will fit for quite awhile…in fact Sadie can probably borrow it from Charlotte if she wants. (sisters sharing clothes-how cute!)

I love the navy and white striped buttons-they get a little lost in the lion fabric, but super cute on the top part, right?

I don’t think I’ve mentioned our new kitty on the blog yet! (She’s been on my Instagram though!)

Her name is Luna and we adopted her a few months ago. Charlotte LOVES her to death, Sadie is still nervous around her, and Ava likes to try and pull her tail.

Luckily she’s a smart cat and stays away from the second two. lol! She’s very patient with them!
