Portugal Vineyard Destination Wedding

Robyn and Nicky are from Ireland but spend a lot of time in Ericeira, Portugal, where they have an apartment. It’s a beautiful seaside fishing village, Nicky loves surfing there, and according to the bride it is “our favourite place to be with its stunning views of the ocean and friendly locals”.

The decision to get married in Portugal came naturally, then. For their big day, they chose a venue a little bit inland, a vineyard in Gradil, which they fell in love with the moment they saw it. And looking at these gorgeous images from Piteira Photography… who can blame them?

From the bride: Quinta de Sant’Ana was recommended to us by another couple who had been married there. Ann and James frost who own the vineyard were also our wedding coordinators. They have exquisite taste so it was a very easy process. We left almost everything to them and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day! They recommended our musicians who were fantastic and also our photographers who couldn’t have given us more beautiful photos! Kerry and Luis captured our day so perfectly. They have such a unique style of taking photos which made our pictures even more stunning than we had imagined!”

Any advice for destination brides? “For me, it was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. This was mainly down to Ann Frost, who I put my full trust in and she made it so beautiful. I thought it was important to take a step back from organising too much myself, so there would still be an element of surprise for the two of us as well as our guests. It’s also hard to take a hands on approach when you’re in a different country, so it was important that we trusted Ann and James 100%. My advice would be to enjoy the preparations as much as you can, and try not to stress out too much. Your day will be perfect no matter what, so there’s no point in stressing!”

“We got customized sunglasses made that said “Robyn & Nicky Portugal 2013” on the side. We also provided pashmina’s for the ladies.”
