Spain Destination Wedding + Chinese Tea Ceremony

Catherine and Francois are a sweet couple from Canada who flew 16 of their closest friends and family to Guadalest, Spain, for their intimate destination wedding. It included a Chinese tea ceremony as well as a wedding ceremony on top of a mountain… breathtaking! The couple had fallen in love with the Alicante village on a trip the year before, so when Francois proposed (during a hiking trip near Eastern Quebec, so romantic!), they decided on a Southern European destination wedding with stunning views and delicious food. Blush and Whimsy Photography documented their beautiful day which I am proud to be able to share with you here!

From the bride: “We visited Guadalest and stayed at Cases Noves a year before our wedding and fell in love with the place. It was a quaint little town with beautiful views. However, we had caught food poisoning from our previous night in London and basically couldn’t do anything while we were in Guadalest. We were stuck in bed for 3 days, alternating our trips to the bathroom. The hosts of the hotel, Sophia and Toni took great care of us – they made us chicken soup from scratch, offered us soda crackers, checked up on us once a while to make sure we’re ok. When we were looking for a venue, Guadalest was definitely our top choice. We knew we will be in good hands of Sophia and Toni. And being foodies, we knew that our guests will enjoy the delicious wine and amazing meals prepared by Sophia. We weren’t disappointed at all!”

On Casa Noves:
“No words can explain how amazing the hosts were at Cases Noves. Sophia and Toni are genuine and truly wish the best for their guests. They didn’t overcharge us for ANYTHING just because we’re having a wedding. Sophia ordered me the bouquet and the flower for my hair that looks EXACTLY like the one in the photo I sent her. And the food, the food, the food, is just phenomenal, especially the 12 course tapas we had one night. Most of the items were local, but everything was made in house by Sophia, presented elegantly on our table….it was like dining at a 3 Michelin star restaurant! Cases Noves is a beautiful house situated in Guadalest. Some rooms overlook the beautiful valley of Guadalest, the beds are super comfortable, the showers were nice and powerful….each room also comes with an IPAD so that you can search for any activities nearby or to message Toni! There’s also a pool nearby that’s free of charge for Cases Noves’ guests. It’s definitely a piece of heaven on earth!”

Any advice for brides organizing a destination wedding?
“I think it would help if you know the venue and people who are organizing your event beforehand. It gives you a lot more of confidence and you know what to expect. However, I recognize that organizing a destination wedding could be stressful, especially with all the uncertainties. I would suggest to keep an open-mind, relax, take it easy and just enjoy your day.”
