{via} Geez where did November go?? Sistermom duties distracted me from writing a proper thankful thanksgiving post but I think it's important to think about what I am especially thankful for this year. Of course, most importantly, I am so thankful for my friends and family and our health.
Above all else, those are the most important.
But this year I am especially thankful for this time that I get to spend at home with my family. Last year, I was celebrating
Thanksgiving in Spain, teaching English, getting my Masters and traveling like it was my job.
This year I am unemployed, living with my parents and playing sistermom.
I get to say "have a great day" as the boys walk into their classrooms in the morning and ask about what they learned when I pick them up. I can attend all preschool and kindergarten functions, activities, soccer games and practices. I get snuggles in bed while reading in bed after bath time. I get to go on walks with my mom several days a week, I can see my so-cal friends, grandma and aunt whenever I want and hang out{aka: party}with my sisters.
Yes I miss traveling, my independence, and European/city life insanely.
Sometimes the suburbs drive me crazy
and those
crazy, wild, little monkeys drive me even more crazy,
but i'm so glad I get to have these few months to really be here with them. I know that whenever and wherever I move to next I'll be so glad I got to have this time to get to do the day-to-day stuff and really be involved with them.
