T-SHIRT FROM PRIMARK | OBSCURE COUTURE SKIRT C/O SPOILED BRAT | HEELS C/O MISSGUIDED BUBBLE BLOWER NECKLACE FROM SUGAR & VICE | SUNGLASSES FROM EBAY
I'm definitely going back to my pastel-loving roots with this outfit! When this beautiful Obscure Couture tutu skirt landed on my doorstep, I wasn't sure how I'd be able to do it justice without resembling a giant marshmallow, however the different elements of this outfit came together quite naturally. The ice cream t-shirt was picked up on a recent Primark spree, and the lovely folk at Missguided sent the dreamy blue heels over as part of another project I'll be posting about soon. Breaking up the sugary tulle with baby blue and simple shapes seemed to work quite well, toning the fluffy skirt down marginally and keeping the look firmly tethered to reality. Sometimes I do have to stop myself going all-out fairy princess, but I feel like I managed to pull this outfit off without going too OTT.
Will I ever get bored of tulle? I doubt it. A tulle midi skirt in a pastel hue will always be a winner in my books! This one is particularly gorgeous and well made. There's no nasty elasticated parts; the waistband is lovely and satiny, and it ties at the back in a big pink bow. The adorable bubble blower necklace from Sugar and Vice was a Christmas gift from my amazing friend Sophie of Crown and Glory, and she was spot on in her choice. It's so me - fun and quirky, but really easy to wear. If you're unfamiliar with Sugar and Vice, you have to check out their Mermaid collection - it's a complete dream!
