Simple, Easy Makeup With Clarins.

Having worn makeup daily since I was fourteen, I rarely face the outside world without it. For years, without exception, I would reach for my thick foundation and concealer every morning, however in recent years I've discovered the joys of fresher, lighter products, that are often more akin to skincare than actual cosmetics. Whilst I still feel a bit naked without a little light coverage and some eye definition, I discovered that my skin looks far brighter with a good BB cream than it ever could under those layers of heavy foundation and powder.
Clarins have recently released a series of videos with Sali Hughes, detailing how to achieve three varying looks in five, ten, and fifteen minutes. Inspired by the videos, and after getting to grips with some of the products featured, I created my own fresh faced makeup look - something easy, light and effortless that I can quickly apply for all of my summer adventures. What I loved most about the products was the application; they've stripped back the unnecessary bells and whistles, and each product goes on beautifully without any additional brushes and tools. Perfect for girls like me who love their makeup, but get a little baffled by all the extras!
I began by smoothing on the Instant light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in 01 Rose for a glowing, subtly pearly base, then applied the BB Skin Perfecting Cream in 00 Fair. I then dotted the Instant Concealer in 02 under my eyes and patted it out to counteract my eye bags, before adding a bit of colour to my cheeks with the Multi-Blush in 02 Candy, a pretty pink cream that turns to a powder when applied. On my eyelids I used the Ombre Minérale Eye Shadow in 08 Taupe for a soft wash of colour, before lightly lining my upper lashes with the 3-Dot Liner in Intense Black. I lightly lined my lower lashes with the Crayon Khôl Eyeliner Pencil in 02 Intense Brown, before applying a couple of coats of Be Long Mascara in 01 Intense Black. Finally, I applied the Instant Light Lip Perfector in 05, a gorgeous rosy balm that's fast becoming one of my favourite products!
