Charles Worthington Mineral Hair Rescue Masque Review

For the first time in forever (there's a song in there somewhere...) I am not doing anything with my hair. Nothing. Nada. Aside from really conditioning it and taking care of it with super masques like the Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Mineral Hair Rescue Masque that I am going to review today.

Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Mineral Hair Rescue Masque*
I had my Great Lengths hair extensions out just before my wedding and I had my hair highlighted and low lighted for the final time and after that I've really just left my hair. My hair was left in super good condition when my extensions were taken out as my hair felt much longer and healthier than it was before I had my extensions put in. The condition of my hair inspired me to leave my hair for the summer to see how much it would grow. I have particularly oily roots but quite dry ends so I normally opt for a clarifying shampoo for my roots and a good conditioner for the ends but over the last few months I've been using any shampoo and conditioner that I can get my hands on that claims to help to get your hair into good condition, which in turn, should help it grow.

Alongside shampooing and conditioning my hair, I've been using lots of hair oils and treatment masques to deeply condition my hair and I've been really laying off the heat styling. I've not been having my hair high or low lighted either as I intend to let it grow out and then go a little darker. The summer is the perfect time to have such a hair overhaul because effortless beachy styles are really in during the warmer months so I can leave my hair to dry and then just pin back my fringe and leave my hair in whatever way it falls. Ombre, sombre and balayage styles are really in at the moment too and I am really starting to love that out grown look so if I was going to leave my roots then this is definitely the time to do it, plus the sun naturally lightens my hair anyway. Its a win win in my eyes!

Like I said, I've been treating my hair to a hair masque very frequently, at least two times a week, and I have been LOVING the results. The most recent masque that I have been using is the Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Mineral Hair Rescue Masque that you can get from Boots. I'll just put this out there- I LOVE this masque and have already repurchased it so from the outset, you know that this review will be a rave.

The Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Mineral Hair Rescue Masque is a one minute hair saver masque that contains argan oil to add and seal in moisture in the hair without weighting it down. It makes my hair feel so soft and smooth and it even has a detangling effect which makes my hair so easy to maintain because I can get out of the shower and comb through it straight away with a wide tooth comb without tugging at my hair and damaging it.

The masque smells great too which is definitely something to take into account if you like to leave a masque on your hair for a while as you don't want to do that with something that smells awful. This masque, along with the rest of the Charles Worthington Moisture Seal line, is fragranced with lime, mandarin and white florals so it smells fruity and floral at the same time. It is a scent that lingers faintly on the hair after use until I put my other products on my hair which overpower the scent.

My hair after using the Mineral Hair Rescue Masque
I found that after using this masque, my hair was left feeling ridiculously soft and looking incredibly healthy and glossy. My hair doesn't feel heavy or weighted down after using this masque and it doesn't get greasy or oily any quicker than it usually does. The softness of my hair and the shine this masque creates in my hair, thanks to the injection of moisture, lasts in my hair until I next wash it which is great as theres nothing worse than spending time pampering yourself for you to wake up the next day without the glossy, soft locks you'd created the night before!

Generally, I use this masque two to three times per week but I recently took it on holiday with me to Turkey as I knew that the sun would be drying my hair out terribly. I used it everyday after I had been in the sun after my shower and sometimes I'd wash it off straight away, other times I'd wander about the room with my hair wrapped up in a towel and then jump in the shower to cool off and wash it off an hour or so later. My hair felt incredibly glossy and healthy the whole time I was away.

The photos I've included of my hair in this post were all taken on holiday and I didn't use any styling tools like straighteners on my hair or any oils or styling products before these photographs were taken so you can see how healthy the masque made my hair look (and feel) all on its own. Hopefully you can see from the photos too that it the ends of my hair smooth and not frizzy in the slightest. This is something that I usually struggle with- oily roots and dry ends and my hair is often quite brittle underneath at the back of my head whereas my full head of hair was soft and full of moisture after each application.

To use, I simply slather on the masque after I have shampooed and conditioned my hair and squeezed the excess water out of it. You can leave it on for one minute as directed or you could leave it on your hair while your face mask gets to work as I sometimes have or you could even sleep in it and wash it off the next day. It is entirely up to you. I generally found that as long as I left it on for the one minute then it would work extremely effectively and I needn't leave it on for any longer as the results aren't really any different on the hair, although it may help you to feel more relaxed if you pop on your hair masque and soak for a good twenty minutes in the tub! Primarily, the fact that this masque works very effectively in a super short amount of time is what I love about it. I don't always have time to lie in the bath and soak or get out and wander about with a masque on so the fact that I can do this for only one minute and achieve super glossy, deep conditioned results that other masques would take fifteen minutes to achieve, makes this masque a winner in my eyes!

Now I know that packaging isn't everything in life but it does make life a little easier when you can quickly get into a product when you're in the bath or the shower without getting it everywhere. This hair masque comes in a pot with a flip up lid. I know, genius right? Its amazing that something so simple can bring a lil ol' beauty blogger like me such happiness but its true. The packaging of this masque means that I can keep it in the shower, pop the lid open easily with one hand, scoop out the amount I need and snap the lid shut without getting lots of excess water inside the pot. It keeps my hair masque as good as new each time I go to use it and it also ensures that there's no waste left in the bottom of a squeezy tube.

The Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Mineral Hair Rescue Masque ticks all the boxes for me and it does EXACTLY what it says on the pot so I cannot see how anyone could not like it. It worked perfectly well on my super oily hair but I think that it would be even more incredible on dry hair.

You can buy yours here... oh and here's a heads up; there's a third off at the moment!

What are your favourite Charles Worthington products? I'm looking for lots of recommendations as I want to pick up some more bits while theres a third off!
