Focusing on Fun Things and Really, Who Am I Kidding?

I got this fun picture in an email earlier today from Awant Excellence that was sent to the marathon participants from the other weekend.

That’s me there getting a massage in the chair after my little dehydration issue at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon. That guy on the right is the one who punched me in the calf as hard as possible to make the cramp go away. Ha.

Here’s a throw back picture of my man Bob Harper and I back in the day when we used to tape workouts together.

Ha. What do you know, the same shirt I had on yesterday.

My foot has barely been hurting the past two days which is just fabulous.

I decided to get a little time outside this morning.

It really wasn’t part of the plan to go up this hill twice (it’s at least 1/4 of a mile long), but when I got to the top the first time I realized I didn’t have my sunglasses on my head anymore. I remembered hitting a branch with my head at the bottom of the hill. Dumb. I know. I was looking down and wearing my visor a little too low.

There were my glasses.

I was very thankful that I realized it when I did. Losing sunglasses is such a pain in the bootie.

I really didn’t like that hill much, but I did really like getting a little sunshine, not having foot pain and getting a good sweat.

I took things very easy today and really took full advantage of some moving “therapy”. It was a miles with meaning kind of a day.

Since I stocked up on kale on our Costco trip yesterday, I whipped up my Vega Sport recovery drink right away when I got home.

Our chickens are finally pulling through and laying more eggs.

It’s about darn time.

Not sure what happened here though with this little one.

Someone was having a bad day.

I did crack it to possibly use for breakfast, but I’m not sure what the heck was going on in there so I didn’t eat it.

I got a really fun MIzuno package in the mail recently.

Oh heck yes. The Wave Sayonara 2 comes out this month.

Those tags say “sample shoe”. I’m thinking about keeping them on for awhile. Ha.

There are just a few minor changes to the original Sayonara. I’ll get a full review up here once I get a couple runs in them, but this short video gives a few details.

Who am I kidding with this whole thing about not posting food pictures on here?

Like I could go a day without taking any pictures of food and/or a bazillion pictures of goodness knows what to share with you all. That’s just silly.

I am going to work on the “less is more” thing though, so I’ll just show you the important stuff.

Larabar just came out with this new grain free Renola.

I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks and sounds delicious. Has anyone had this yet? I bet it would go great with popcorn.

Speaking of popcorn, this is the best popcorn ever.

Yep, this Tiny But Mighty Popcorn is my favorite out of about four different kinds I’ve had recently. It’s the only one that doesn’t have popcorn flying all over the kitchen or a million hulls left in the bowl. I bought it on Amazon, but just saw it at Sprouts today.

Since you’ll probably be reading this tomorrow on the 4th of July, here’s my attempt at a festive snack that went down today.

I made a variation of the healthy chia cookie dough dip and topped it with both PB Free and chocolate NuttZo (one scoop just isn’t enough). Flatout cinnamon crisps and a Fuji apple were for dipping and since we’re now out of cherries, we’ve moved on to eating as many blueberries as possible instead.

Random, but I’ve been loving these sparkling mineral waters from Costco lately.

I just sucked one down tonight with yet another late dinner this week.

Zucchini pizzas, teriyaki chicken and vegetables leftover from Tutu’s over cabbage salad with sriracha and a cheese less sandwich. (Those sandwiches might be making a comeback. Dang it was good.)

And… with a huge Happy Birthday wish to my best friend Jenn, to Tutu (who we’ll be partying for all weekend) and my brother-in-law (who’s birthday is actually on the 4th), I’m off.

I can’t wait for a full weekend of family time!

Have a fabulous 4th of July tomorrow!

Is anyone running a race or doing an organized game or workout? I’m teaching a class at our special 4th of July Workout tomorrow. I better dress the part.

Does anyone else get excited to watch the hot dog eating contest? I missed it last year.

Who’s either eating a hot dog tomorrow or going to a parade? We’ll be doing both.
