Focusing on Good Things- Free Photos, a Pro Shake Out Run and REM_Fit Bedding

When times get tough, it’s best to focus on all the good things.

That’s what I’ll be doing today.

I had a couple thoughts last night, but the most important one was that people should just be nice.

I could say a lot more, but I’m not going to right now. Let’s all just be nice and help people out instead of knocking them down. That’s just so silly.

My legs are finally feeling a little better after the race Sunday. Holy heck I swear it felt like I had been hit by a train for a few days.

I got on the treadmill early this morning for some easy miles. There was no way I was going at anything over 1.0 as an incline.

I tried to finish this show before anyone walked in and surprised me. I like the show, but the beginning is a bit disturbing to me for some reason.

One Orange is the New Black and one Sex and the City episode later and ten miles were over.

I did some serious double fisting my my Vega recovery drink and coffee immediately following.

Cleaned up, had a snack, got the boys ready and hit up the gym to teach spin and do the swim lesson thing.

New fun spin song by the way is

this one. Riptide by Vance Joy. Good hill climb with some faster pushes with the chorus.

The iFit Active giveaway winner has been randomly chosen by Rafflecopter and is displayed HERE.

Congrats!

I finally made some good pumpkin French Toast this morning and actually wrote down the measurements for a change so I can share.

Here’s a preview, although I’m not sure why it looks like I took this picture upside down.

Everything is better topped with SunButter and such, isn’t it? What the heck would we do without nut butter?

Speaking of, those Silky Dark Chocolate Cups I made yesterday are really great topped with SunButter.

Oh yes.

Some other good news to share:

Results from the Stairway to Heaven race on Sunday are in. I got 6th place overall female out of 193.

I totally forgot to tell you that the San Francisco Marathon 2014 had free race photos. Usually races charge you like $30 or something to download a picture, but they let you have all of them for FREE. How cool is that?

Here are a couple of my favorite ones.

I like to look at old race photos when I need a little extra motivation. Anyone else?

Speaking of races, this weekend is America’s Finest City Half Marathon. This was the very first half marathon I ever did and I think it was 8 or 9 years ago. I can’t remember.

I’m excited for it this weekend. I know quite a few friends that are running so it should be a good time.

Want to know what else is going to be a good time?

This.

Heck yes. We had such a blast the last time we did a Pro Compression Shake Out Run, we’re doing one again. Same place, different time.

Anyone can join us. You don’t have to be running the race.

Good people, fun Pro swag. Beautiful surroundings.

One really great thing that I haven’t shared yet is this awesome REM-Fit bedding I’ve been putting to good use. I was sent the REM-Fit Total Sleep Recovery System to review.

It includes the REM-Fit Rest Adjustable Pillow,

REM-Fit Energize Smooth Mattress Protector

and the REM-Fit Energize Smooth Pillow Protector.

I was eager to put all these to good use, especially since I’ve really been focusing on sleep as a major cross training component. These products are designed for active people and have optimal sleep and recovery as one of the main goals.

Here are some key components of the REM-Fit Total Sleep Recovery System.

1. It is designed to help those who embrace an active, healthy lifestyle by providing a rejuvenating sleep environment. REM-Fit is a lifestyle, which stands for Rest, Energize and Motivate.

2. Exercise and Rest are necessary for mental and physical balance, and are key components of a healthy lifestyle.

3. Sleep is essential to help Energize the body for the physical requirements of today’s active lifestyle.

4. A restful night’s sleep helps the body recover and Motivates athletes to push their physical limits the next day.

5. The REM-Fit pillow and bedding and pillow protection products include features like Tencel®, which aids in thermo-regulation, wicks away moisture, is hypoallergenic, has antibacterial properties and provides a soft, silky-smooth sleep zone for those with sensitive skin. Another feature is Miracle Membrane®, which maintains mattress hygiene for more restful sleep.

I didn’t remove any of the filling on the pillow, although you easily can to adjust to your personal preference. I feel like it’s just right with the amount of filling that came in it.

My little helper feels the same way.

I really like the hypoallergenic, moisture wicking technology on the protector and cover. It’s silky smooth and does just what it say in that it helps regulate body temperature while I sleep. I do notice a difference and I’m definitely digging it on these hot summer night.

Having a clean, safe, comfortable environment for sleeping is so important. Especially if you’re active and really need quality rest. The REM-Fit lifestyle has really done all the work for you and has a well balanced approach in mind.

Is it bad that I kind of want to crawl into bed right now while the house is quiet?

Ha.

I’m very fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to review these products. They have made a difference in my cross training that involves some serious shut eye.

REM_Fit also has some great videos geared towards athletes and having a fit lifestyle on their YouTube channel with new videos every week.

‘REM_Fit Life’

I really like

this one on maximizing sleep. I’m going to try following these steps. I’ve never done the golf ball foot massage or the nostril breathing. Interesting stuff. I’m all about trying anything I can do though to sleep better.

In case you might need a little extra help with better sleep and rest, you can use the code “remfitlife” to save 40% off everything on the REM_Fit website.

Okay, I’m off to focus on a few more good things today. Have a good one!

What’s something good you’re focusing on today?

Are you picky about your bedding or pillows? I’m really high maintenance when it comes to how firm a pillow is. It has to be just right and my arm has to fit comfortably under the pillow.

Do you have any bedtime rituals that help you sleep?

Are you going to come meet us for the shake out run Saturday?
