No Toast Just Yet, It’s Hot and We Have Some Cool Style

Yeah, the French Toast went down again today, but it’s too hot at the moment to even think about it. I’m sweating here just sitting in the office so I’ve got to make this quick. Not to mention I have a few classes to teach tonight at the gym so I better get a move on.

I got a late start this morning, but made it to the treadmill at a fairly decent time.

I totally did the whole 11.11 thing on purpose. I also totally wasn’t ready for any sort of incline yet still. I also totally had some seriously wet, soggy shoes at the end of the run.

I have serious sweating problems lately. I’ve got some weird stuff going on so not sure if it’s because of that or because it’s so darn hot out or maybe a combination of everything. Who the heck knows.

When I’m dragging a little later to the treadmill (like this morning) I have to make some rules for myself. Some rules from earlier today were leaving my phone far away from the treadmill so I couldn’t get distracted, a plan to watch one Orange is the New Black episode and one Sex and the City one while I was on there. That combo is a good one and not only does it keep me entertained, but it’s usually good for a double digit run. I also didn’t let myself have coffee until afterwards so I was really looking forward to it.

I have to say, the run went by pretty quickly.

I do feel bad for not having the French Toast recipe on here for you. I actually feel kind of bad because it’s really nothing too special and you may be disappointed when I do post it for you tomorrow, but oh well.

I will show you that I finally made us one of my main man’s favorite dinners last night. Taco pie.

Oh heck yes.

I’d forgotten how good this is. I made two, one for him, one for me. Mine had just a little extra spice, a little less dairy and lots of my homemade Hatch Chile salsa. It didn’t turn out as pretty.

I’m getting lazy at night with desserts. I used to go all out and make homemade almond milk ice cream all the time and do it all up. That just doesn’t happen anymore. I rather go to bed early.

I should be honest though and tell you that sometimes I go the healthy route and a couple Silky Dark Chocolate Cups are all I need.

Sometimes though I just really want a good real ice cream treat (or two).

I won’t buy the big box of Drumsticks from Costco again just because it was on sale, that was not a good choice, but these treats will always have a special place in my heart. There’s just something about them. Maybe the chocolate left at the bottom of the cone? I don’t know. Oh and thumbing through Runner’s World and watching Modern Family at the same time is pretty awesome too. Ha.

If you’re on Instagram you already saw that the summer heat just can’t stop our sense of style.

We are not embarrassed to go out and about flaunting our awesome style either.

(Just you know, hanging at the gym.)

Speaking of style, we got some Zevia in the house just this week for a new Zevia Style campaign.

I just sucked down a regular cola.

I think this one is my favorite.

For this contest they have going on, Zevia is giving away loads of prizes for 22 days including a $100 Target gift card every day, just for the best style pictures on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #ZeviaStyle . How cool is that?

You can get all the details about the contest here.

Zevia Style Contest

Just so you know though, we might be entering quite a bit because, well, obviously we have some style. Ha ha.

We had the brilliant idea to go to open gymnastics today in the summer heat.

Not the best choice, but the boys had a blast.

Okay, time to head to the gym. Hope you had a great day!

I’m working on a little something over here and trying to say “no” more often and only say “yes” to the really important things.

I saw this posted on Instagram the other day by my friend Lindsey.

But, now I really want to learn more about this book. Has anyone read it?

The Best Yes

Okay. See you tomorrow!
