Lefkes, Paros

Outfit: Love Sam lace blouse, Etoilé Isabel Marant skirt (similar), K.Jacques St Tropez sandals, Chanel sunglasses, Christys' panama hat, Hermes Cape Cod watch and Monica Vinader bracelet.

The three of us were such wussies when it came to the stifling heat in Paros............ okay, mostly me.....that we spent the day curled up on the sofa with the A/C turned up at full blast. Rule number one when traveling to Greece in the summer months - air conditioning. Rule number two: air conditioning. Rule number three: air conditioning. You get the idea. Little wonder the streets of Parikia are emptied out of any living creatures other than crickets in the afternoon. Even the cats lay in a comatose state in shady spots under a tree.

Remember my godforsaken bikini shopping? Yes......I ended up getting one for €8 at H&M. Other than trying it out in the fitting room, it did not touch my body once. I simply can't fathom the idea of baking oneself in the sun. Perhaps it's just me because I look like a lobster after half and hour in the sun and my head will pound for days after. I know wearing a bikini is the norm on the beaches of Europe. It doesn't matter if you've got an awesome toned body or one that kinda just hangs (like mine)......you know the kind where gravity has taken hold..... NO ONE gives a toss here. Still. I can't. I really can't. It's like walking around in my underwear. #shitIworryabout

After several days of lazing about, we finally ventured into the charming and sleepy village of Lefkes with its traditional Cycladic white washed houses and brightly painted blue doors and shutters. The friendly locals often waved a friendly Yasas! as we walked past. Unlike most Greeks who'd converge at the tavernas at 9pm, we were barely coherent from hunger by 7pm. Heather and Lil L are far more adventurous than I. They're happy to eat anything that flies, crawls or walks...... like the deep fried snails that came with a divine garlic cheese sauce. Despite my initial hesitation, it was the highlight of our meal in Lefkes. We overdosed on seafood and ordered the salad to appease our conscience. 5 a day and all that jazz.

If you're wondering why ALL my outfit photos look fairly similar. That's because I travel light and simply can't bear the idea of hauling heavy suitcases around for the duration of my trips. I hope I'm not boring y'all with my travel photos - there are literally dozens. I was a little trigger happy with my camera so more photos will make their way to this blog soon.
