los angeles love

I'm a born and raised Southern California girl who can't imagine living anywhere else in the world. And while I've gushed about living in Los Angeles plenty of times on the blog, I didn't actually grow up near LA. I'm from a small suburb about halfway between LA and San Diego. I moved to the Los Angeles area for college and fell head-over-heels in love with the City of Angels. I've lived in LA for almost 9 years (God, I feel ancient) and I've never regretted my decision to settle down here. Thankfully, I married a man who feels the same way and last year we became official Los Angeles homeowners when we bought our first house!
Buying a house is a big decision. It means putting down roots and you want to make sure that you are settling down in a place that's right for you. When it came to buying our home, I'll admit that I was nervous about making such a big commitment to a place and a community. But the moment we stepped into (what is now) our house for the first time, I knew this was the right decision. A year later, we couldn't be happier being homeowners and I feel more invested in LA than ever before.
And how could I not be happy to live in my favorite place in the world? LA has so much to offer its residents and I love taking advantage of all the beauty, culture, and fun around me.

My small hometown was a great place to grow up, but I'm much happier living closer to a metropolitan area like Los Angeles. There's always something new to see and explore, and there's a diversity here that you can't find in a lot of places.
When the time came to buy a home, my husband I both knew there was nowhere else we would rather be. It feels good to put down roots in a place we both love so much and I know we'll be calling Los Angeles our home for many years to come!
What about you? How did you decide where to buy your home? What do you love about your city? If you don't own a home, are you looking forward to owning one in the future? Let me know in the comments!

What starts with one California REALTOR® benefits all of California. That’s the underlying sentiment of the California Association of REALTORS® (CAR) integrated consumer ad campaign called 'Ripple'. Now in its second year, the “Ripple” campaign connects the dots between REALTORS® and the California economy, illustrating how a Champion of Home™ can help consumers close on their dreams and, together, benefit the entire state. While highlighting the intrinsic value of REALTORS® as Champions of Home™, the "Ripple" campaign goes beyond the story of the individual REALTOR® and focuses on the powerful positive economic impact that REALTORS®, buyers, and sellers are making throughout California.
