VIAJE A LAS ISLAS CÍES

Hace unos días, recibí una propuesta de Housetrip.es, dentro de su proyecto "Rincones Escondidos" para que hablase de uno de mis lugares favoritos "Las Islas Cíes", así que no pude resistirme a hacer un post sobre nuestra última visita a las Islas.

Few days ago, I received a Housetrip.es proposal, inside its proyect "Hidden Places" and I have to talk about one of my favorite place "Las Islas Cíes", so, I can't resist to make a post, talking about our last visit to Islas Cíes.


Fue en 2007 cuando el famoso periódico británico The Guardian publicaría su particular Top Ten de las mejores playas del Mundo, declarando la Playa de Rodas (Islas Cíes) como la playa más bella compartiendo lista con otras maravillas de Colombia, Brasil, Filipinas, Tanzania o la Polinesia.

It was in 2007 when the famous British newspaper "The Guardian" published its particular Top Ten of the best beaches in the world, declaring the Playa de Rodas (Cies Islands) as the most beautiful beach, sharing list of other wonders of Colombia, Brazil, Philippines, Tanzania or Polynesia.

Para los que somos gallegos, vivir cerca de las Cíes, es tener el paraíso a las puertas de casa. Así que hoy me gustaría hablaros un poco de estas islas y de cómo pasar un día fantástico.


For those who are Galicians, we live near the Cies, we have the doors of Paradise in our home. So today I would like to speak about these islands and how to have a fantastic day.

Sólo hay una forma de llegar a las Islas Cíes, y ésta es mediante transporte marítimo (barco, ferry o velero) desde Vigo, Cangas o Baiona, y sólo durante Semana Santa y Verano. Hai que reservar con antelación porque en verano hay muchas reservas y sólo se permite una afluencia de 2200 personas. El barco que nosotros cogimos, es un catamarán que tenía 4 plantas diferentes, con la última abierta, lo que permite ver las preciosas vistas de la ría. El viaje tiene una duración de 40 minutos que se pasan volando.

There is only one way to get to the Cies Islands, and this is, by maritime transport (boat, ferry or boat) from Vigo, Cangas and Baiona, and only during Easter and Summer. You have to book in advance because in summer there are many reservations and only an influx of 2200 people is allowed. The boat where we going to the islans, is a catamaran that had 4 different levels, the last open, allowing you to see the beautiful views of the estuary. The trip lasts 40 minutes.

El único alojamiento para dormir de todas las Islas Cíes es un camping de 800 plazas que no dispone de cabañas ni bungalows y que sólo permanece abierto en Semana Santa y desde el 15 de Junio al 15 de Septiembre. También hay un pequeño bar de copas y un supermercado.

The only accommodation for sleeping on the Cies Islands is a 800 places camping that don't have cabins or bungalows and only remains open at Easter and from June 15 to September 15. There is also a small cocktail bar and supermarket.

Sólo hay 3 restaurantes en todas las islas y 2 de ellos sirven bocadillos (y similares). Los precios son algo más altos que los precios normales pero tampoco exagerados.En la isla hay tres sitios para comer: dos son self-service, uno en el puerto y otro en el camping, y el último es Casa Serafín (en el extremo contrario a donde se desembarca en la playa de Rodas) un restaurante pequeñito de un señor isleño, que tiene mucho encanto. En esta ocasión comimos en el self service del puerto, porque queríamos aprovechar bien el día, así que tapeamos algo y a continuar con la visita.


There are only 3 restaurants in the islands . Two 2 of them with self service snacks . Prices are some higher than normal prices but not too much . In the island there are three places to eat: two are self-service, one on port and one on the camping, and the last is Casa Serafin (on the opposite end where is landed on the beach of Rhodes) a tiny restaurant with charm , whose owener is an island man. This time we ate in the self service port because we wanted to enjoy the day, so we eat some tapas and continue the visit.

De las cuatro playas que tiene la isla (en realidad son 2 islas unidas por una playa ): Rodas (la más grande y que une las islas), Figueiras (la segunda en tamaño y que le da la sombra de los árboles por la tarde), Viños (es un lateral de la playa de Rodas) y Nuestra Señora.


Four beaches have the island (actually two islands connected by a beach): Rodas (the largest and connecting the islands), Figueiras (second in size and that they will give the shade of the trees in the evening ) Viños (is one side of the beach of Rhodes) and Nuestra Señora.

No me digáis que no es un verdadero paraíso!!!! Os recuerdo si la visitáis, que no hay papeleras, y que la basura que generéis, debéis llevárosla de vuelta, para mantener limpio el entorno. Sólo os puedo decir que es uno de los lugares que debería ser visita obligada para los que vengáis de vacaciones a tierras gallegas!!!!

Don't tell me, Cíes is a true paradise!! I remind you if you visit, there are no bins, and trash that you produce, must get back to keep the environment clean. Only I can say that is one of the places that should be must visit if you come to Galicia Holidays!!
