This Week in Review – June 27

what i did

I went to a red and white, prohibition-themed party thrown by Wine Enthusiast magazine, which was quite fun and had lots of fancy, yummy wines.

I had a birthday! Thank you for all the lovely bday wishes on my post last week. It was a very chill but very good weekend.

Oh! And I finally saw the The Fault in Our Stars movie! So good, was it not? Remember when I met Ansel?

Man. I sobbed so hard I had to WIPE THE TEARS OFF MY NECK.

‘Delirium’ Pilot Coming to Hulu
Did any of you watch the pilot for Delirium that got posted even though it’ll never air? I heard it was AWFUL…but maybe I’ll still watch it anyway!

In Defense Of Young-Adult Fiction
I always love reading why other people choose YA as adults — check out this post from author Leigh Bardugo.

Boomerang by Noelle August (aka Veronica Rossi!!!)
Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick (came with a super cute metal water bottle!)

Thank you to Scholastic, Harper, Bloomsbury, Random House and Simon & Schuster. I’m particularly excited to read Jennifer, Gwyneth & Me because it is written by MY FRIEND RACHEL! We used to sit right next to each other at work and I’m so proud of her!

A big big big thank you to Ginger and Sarah Ockler for my very own copy of Finding Delilah, which as you may know I LOVED and inspired me to write this post. What a lovely birthday present. THANK YOU!

My copy of Four also came with a poster and a yummy cookie that I am eating now and is getting crumbs all over my bed. Whoops! Don’t tell my husband! If any of you want the poster, leave me a comment below and I’ll pick out one random winner to contact and send it to! Thanks, Harper!

books i read

Plenty of books were read this week. My husband caught me unaware in this pic — can you see how FOCUSED I was on Mortal Heart?

Since my last post, I’ve read two embarrassing romance novels, plus:

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (long but very interesting)
Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater (good good good)
Through to You by Lauren Barnholdt (enjoyable, but not as good as I wanted)
Mortal Heart by Robin LaFevers (OMG OMG OMG)
17 First Kisses by Rachael Allen (hmmm)

What’d you read this week? Do anything bookish & fun? I hope so!
