Old Town, Alexandria is one of our favorite places to shop, eat or just spend the day outdoors, so I was super excited to be a part of the Old Town 7th Annual Scavenger Hunt last weekend and take over their Instagram. I spent the day hanging out by the water, popping into some of my favorite stores, like She's Unique, The Shoe Hive and LOFT, and just enjoy a beautiful, sunny day outdoors. I really want to create a guide to Old Town and post it here, because it is one of my favorite local spots, so keep an eye out for that soon! :)
I opted for a jeans and sneakers that day so that I could easily hop around town on foot. Dressed up with a little, silk tank, I felt comfortable and cute and ready to Instagram the day away. I'm so glad that my outfit was easy breezy so I could focus on things like keeping my phone charged, playing with the pups at The Dog Park or snapping photos. Old Town has a lot of good photo-ops, so I had no time to waste. I was really thankful that The Shoe Hive hooked me up with this pair of Superga's, because even though they had so many amazing heels that I was easily distracted by, a cool pair of sneakers have become a go-to of mine lately. I know I'm going to get so much wear out of these!
I've always shopped for jeans at LOFT because they just fit me really well. A light-wash, skinny jean with a little bit of stretch, like the Modern Skinny, is an essential pair of denim to have lying around for casual outfits like this. They're a pretty basic skinny style but the little details like a few distressed rips and a cute ankle zipper keep them fresh. I also picked up the Relaxed Skinny Jean in Surf Blue Wash, they're more of a fitted boyfriend jean, which I love since I'm pretty petite, and both pairs are on sale online right now here!
