Six Simple Steps To A Pinterest-Worthy Home Office

It’s hard not to be inspired looking at all the fab home office set-ups on Pinterest. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Redcurrent to show you how to create your own Pinterest-worthy study (on a budget) by following these simple steps.

1. Start with a great desk

Many of the cool offices you see online all have one thing in common – a killer desk. I recently bought this Freedom trestle desk and absolutely love it. It’s simple and sturdy and being white means it’s easy to pimp out. If you don’t have the budget to splash out on a new desk then up-cycle an old table or desk similar to the way I’ve done so here. Otherwise you can always buy a plain white door and sit it over the top of your existing desk to give it a quick and easy modern makeover.

2. DIY moodboard

A mood board is really a great way to add interest to your workspace while inspiring you at the same time. You don’t have to shell out big money for one either. We love this simple DIY mood board above using some wire mesh from your local hardware store and cool bulldog clips and wooden pegs to hang your favourite pieces.

3. Pimp Your Walls

Wall decals are a really effective way to add some real style to a room and the best part is they are child’s play to apply and easy to remove if you change your mind. You can get everything from stick-on chalkboard wall calendars to cute gold dots. These cool decals are readily available online and are the best way to add personality in a hurry.

4. Clever storage solutions

To achieve an uber-organised Pinterest-looking desk you’ll need some cool new storage options. Simple storage solutions are key to keeping your desk fuss-free. Clear the clutter with these cool navy and white wicker baskets here.

5. Fun office accessories

Think outside the square when it comes to office accessories. Simple glass bottles look super-stylish when filled with your favourite stationery items. Just remember odd numbers of items clustered together always look better than an even number.

6. Make your office bloomin’ lovely

Plants and flowers always give a home office a lovely zen-like vibe. Check out some of these online DIY tutorials to create your own office greenery. We especially love these cute DIY concrete planters. If you don’t have time to get crafty them repurpose items you already have at home. Candle jars and vases make for great planters and succulents are super hardy so won’t require too much looking after either.
