Exclusive Interview: Shavaughn Ruakere Talks About Her Exciting New Role

Stunning television personality Shavaughn Ruakere is the new face of Pantene in New Zealand. The former Shorty Street star is the latest Kiwi ambassador to join Pantene, the brand that helped launch the career of Rachel Hunter in the early ‘90s. The supermodel was cast in a television advertisement that featured the famous catchphrase, “It won’t happen overnight…but it will happen”.

For Shavaughn, who first found fame on iconic children’s television show What Now, becoming the face of Pantene is a real honour. We recently caught up with Shavaughn to find out a little bit more about her exciting new role.

How often do you wash your hair?
Everyday

What’s your go-to everyday hairstyle?
Depends what I’m doing but mostly just down with the old left side part. I’ve pretty much always got a hair tie on my wrist though for topknot and pony tail action.

What’s your secret to healthy hair?
Pantene baby!

What’s your favourite Pantene product and why?
I really like the Ultimate 10 BB Creme. Couple of pumps and it really smooths my hair out and makes it feel super healthy.

What will you be doing in your role as the Kiwi face of Pantene?
A lot of Rachel Hunter impersonations oh and spreading the word about all the lovely Pantene products.

Do you treat your hair any differently now you are the face of Pantene?
I was a true Pantene convert before they asked me but I must say, I’m a lot better stocked these days.

Finish this sentence: The best thing someone could do to my hair is . . . tell those straggly little greys that are appearing to go take a hike.
