Workout Rut



It's only January 7th and you're already in a workout rut? I hate working out in winter- it's cold and nasty out so it makes me want to curl up and watch Something Borrowed (I can't stop watching that movie!) instead of heading to the gym. Here are a few fun tips to help put you (and me!) back on the right track!
- Squeeze in mini-workouts. If you don't have an hour and a half to get to the gym and back, do a quick workout at home. Trainers swear by effective 'mini' workouts: 10 - 15 reps of push-ups, lunges and holding a plank position for 30 seconds. Repeat two to three times and voila you're done!
- Try something new! I'm jazzed about Ballet Beautiful! Created by a New York City Ballet dancer, this workout is said to give you a sleek, firm bod. You can attend classes from anywhere via live video feed (the instructor can see you!), stream videos to your iPhone or purchase a DVD.
- New way to snack! Research shows if you snack with your non-dominant hand you'll consume 30% less! So go ahead grab the M&Ms... with your left hand!
