Hawaii Travelers Guide: My Favorite Places. I recently returned from a mini-vaca from my hometown, Honolulu, Hawaii. I haven’t been there in a little over a year and visiting my parents was a precious treat. I realized that I didn’t appreciate Hawaii as much as I should, probably because I grew up there and took it for granted. I had such a great time, just relaxing and enjoying the island!
I always circle the island each visit back. I mean … it only takes literally 2-3 hours and that’s including little stops here and there. If you ever go to Hawaii you should definitely do this! Start from Hawaii Kai and make your way passing Hanauma Bay and into North Shore.

Stop by Sunset beach and you’re most likely to spot Hawaiian turtles resting on shore.
Walk to the back at Dole Plantation and you can feed the fishes.
(Top Left) Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck in North Shore – there’s only one road so you can’t miss it. (Top Right) Fook Lam Seafood Restaurant – yum yum dim sum located in Downtown, Hawaii (Bottom Left) MW Restaurant – a new asian fusion restaurant in town near Ala Moana, they change their menu weekly (Bottom Right) Blue Hawaii Lifestyle – a store in Ala Moana upstairs near Nordstrom offers drinks and snacks. I ate an acai bowl. A few other places is Cafe Kaila, they have great brunch food with lots of fresh cut berries on their pancakes and waffles. Boots and Kimo’s is famous for their macadamia nut sauce on their pancakes.
I had dinner at Sarento’s my last night. Amazing food, amazing view, it’s perfect during the sunset.
