Simple Caramel Dutch Apple Pie Dessert

I love a lot of things about the holidays I love, and food is up there at the top of the list. The only caveat is the amount of time spent in the kitchen. While I love to cook, I also love to spend time with my family and friends and that can be difficult if you have a small kitchen like I do. One little trick I have learned is to buy something already made and give it that “lagniappe” to make it taste homemade. Today I am going to share with you this delicious trick with Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie. All you need is a yummy caramel topping, and suddenly it tastes a little more like homemade.

Simple Caramel Dutch Apple Pie Dessert

To get started, head to your favorite local grocery store and purchase a Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie and your favorite caramel spreadable topping.

Heat your oven to 400 degrees.

Remove the Dutch Apple Pie from the box and place the crumbled topping off to the side. Remove the plastic wrap from the pie and place on a cookie sheet in oven for 55 minutes.

Remove the pie from the oven and place on a work station.

Take your favorite caramel topping and spread over the entire top of the pie. Since the pie is hot, it will eventually cover the entire top.

Cover the caramel with the crumbled topping.

Place back into the oven and back for an additional 10 minutes to give the topping a golden look.

Remove pie from the oven and transfer it over to a cooling rack for 2 hours. This gives the pie time to gel and will make cutting a little easier once it is cooled.

This pie is delicious all by itself, but it is AMAZING with a little caramel topping sandwiched in between the topping and the crumbles.

I love that you can take something simple like this and give it that homemade taste with a simple trick. If you are looking for a simple dessert for the holidays, try this Caramel Dutch Apple Pie Dessert.
