Bourjois Ole Flamingo Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick Review Swatches

Bourjois Ole Flamingo Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick ( £8.99 )

What Bourjois Says: Bourjois’ NEW Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick range gives your lips bold, matt and longlasting colour with 24hr hold.

I have heard so much about Bourjois Ole Flamingo Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick from my friend that I was very interested in buying one. I got the shade “Ole Flamingo!” after some thought.

Packaging: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks come in a clear rectangular packaging with a color-co-ordinated top, similar to the Revlon Moisture Stain somehow, although that has a black top.

Texture and Formula: Yes Bourjois, you can take a bow. The formula is exactly like rubbing velvet on my lips, especially with the really nice doe-footed applicator. It glides on so evenly, and no, does not feel sticky on my lips at all! I find this not drying at all, and the texture is brilliant. The formula is wonderful, although there is a faint weird smell when I first apply it.

Color: Hot fuchsia! That is the color of Bourjois Ole Flamingo! I was really apprehensive about wearing it… because I was thinking whether I could pull it off or not, but hey, guess what? I could! The shade just made my face look immediately brighter and somehow made me look two shades fairer (I have no clue how that happened, though), and I loved the effect.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation was perfect – one coat gave me a gorgeous pretty fuchsia color, but then when I swiped the applicator again, the color just popped out. Within a couple of minutes it settled, and hid all my lip pigmentation. Although Bourjois Ole Flamingo transferred lightly in the first fifteen minutes, then it settled proper, and did not budge at all. I have used this with and without a lip balm, and when it comes to the balm, it takes a little more time to settle (around half an hour), and then it stays.

Lasting Power: On me, it lasted six hours, when I did not eat. I did drink water and coffee during this time, and Bourjois Ole Flamingo faded slightly from the center, but did not budge otherwise and the fading looked natural. When I ate, it faded more, but still the stain was there. I had to come back and remove this with a makeup remover to truly get the color out.

Overall Thought

I totally wish these colors were all available in India. They are so pretty, and the pigmentation is just plain awesome! Bourjois, are you listening?
