MAC - Candy Yum Yum
I don't know what it is about lipsticks but whenever I have a swoosh of colour on my lips I always feel blimmin' amazing. I've taken to wearing lipstick now almost every day, and I have to admit I do feel a little plain, and almost as if something is missing if I don't wear it. My total count for red lipsticks at the moment is 10. TEN. (omg)
I was browsing in the MAC store the other day, as I was originally after RiRi Woo (yes...another red...) but they were all out. I'd had my heart set on getting a new lippy and didn't want to leave empty handed, so the mooch for the perfect colour began. I am a matte fiend at the moment, so headed straight for those. 'Candy Yum Yum' jumped out at me straight away, but I have to admit it did seem a little...garish, even for me! I took swatches of a few but in the end I just couldn't take my eyes off 'Candy Yum Yum' - my boyfriend gave his two cents too "it looks awful" ... but boys don't know anything about lipstick! So, off I went and spent £15 on a bright pink lipstick I didn't know if I would ever wear, or just stare at for eternity.
I have to say, I love it. I really really do. At the moment it's taken over all TEN of my reds, and is right at the top of my 'go to'. It is very bright, daring and in your face. It does take a brave soul to wear this, but I think everyone could rock it. As I mentioned above, I am in a matte frenzy at the moment, and this lipstick is matte. However, it's not overly matte. 'Ruby Woo' is my favourite red EVER but it is so terribly drying because it seems to be super duper matte. 'Candy YumYum' does appear to have some sort of moisture and sheen to it, whilst still giving a small matte effect.
After this, I'm now after a more 'subtle' and natural pink...but we'll see!
