Rock Courtship (Rock Kiss, #1.5) by Nalini Singh

What it’s about New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh's new contemporary romance novella is pure hard rock and scorching heat...

What happens when the Gentleman of Rock decides to play dirty?

A drummer for the hottest rock band on the planet, David has a single, powerful weakness: Thea, the band's publicist and the woman who steals his breath away with her every move.

Only problem is, Thea doesn't date clients--or musicians. Emotionally scarred by a cheating ex, she's not about to risk her heart with a man who has groupies buzzing around him like flies. Even if his sexy smile ties her up in knots.

What she doesn't know is that David is a one-woman man...and he's madly in love with her. David's determined to prove he's worth the risk, and willing to court her, step by exquisite step. Thea's about to discover just how long and hard this handsome drummer can play.

Kristen’s Review

4 to 4.5 – David Rocked My World–Stars! I really enjoyed this novella. In fact, it didn't read like a novella but read more like a full length novel. It was full of characterization, creative dialogue, and sensual romance. It also featured a sexy, tattooed, and very determined hero that stole my heart and made me swoon.

It's refreshing read a rock star romance where the hero is easy to fall in love with. And, boy, did I fall in love with David. He's charming, shy, loyal, and genuine. He's pure class and definitely lived up to his "Gentlemen of Rock" title.

After getting to know Thea's character in the first book, I was a little worried that she might be too strong willed for me. I shouldn't have worried; Nalini Singh knows how to write kick-butt heroines that are easy to love. Thea's definitely a tough-as-nails business women who can hold her own, but she also possesses a vulnerable side that was very endearing. I loved her.

What I loved most about this book were the MEMOS sent between David and Thea. Oh my goodness, they were brilliantly written and so much fun to read. I absolutely loved David's sense of humor. Here's a fun quote from one of his memos to Thea.
"I'm also in good shape. I realize I'm not as pretty as Noah, or as built as Abe, or have a dimple like Fox, but I have been told I have good teeth. Therefore, I'm not physically deficient."

For those who struggled with Rock Addiction and are on the fence about continuing with this series, I encourage you to give this book a shot. Unlike Rock Addiction, which felt like a new adult erotic romance, Rock Courtship reads like a contemporary romance with the perfect blend of plot, humor, steam, and heartwarming romance. It made for a quick and enjoyable afternoon read. I highly recommend it.
