Made By Me #79

Yep you read that right. I have decided to stop trying to blog my dresses in order and to just go with what I fancy sharing. It has been quite hard for me to break out of order, I very much enjoy being ordered. Everything in its place and all that. I am making loads of dresses at the moment that I really want to share so I am going for it. What a crazy life I lead ;) I managed to make five dresses last week after a week of being too tired to even contemplate sitting at the sewing machine. It's so therapeutic for me, I really miss it when I can't sew.

I am hoping by the time this post is published I will be the owner of a shiny new overlocker. I didn't ever think I would need one when I first started sewing but I want to be able to finish my seams more professionally and make them look as good on the inside as they do on the outside (might even start sewing my lining down...) I have some amazing striped cotton sateen cut out ready to make up but either need to overlock it or faff around doing French seams. So that will be my first project for the overlocker and I am hoping it will be fabulous!

I picked up this heart print fabric back in May when I visited Goldhawk Road with Char and Roisin. I have no idea what it is made of, it is definitely not cotton! It has very little give and has quite a bit of body so it hangs really well. It has a burn-out design which you can't really see in the photos, I have tried to show it in the photo where I am holding the skirt up but don't think I have done it very well. It is quite sheer but not see through, at least I hope it's not! haha. I loved the print and had a few colour ways to choose from but couldn't get past the red hearts combined with the cobalt blue and turquoise. I also really love the colour my hair has faded to in these photos.
