Home Office Refresh

One of the reasons Gray really wanted to buy our house was that he could have his own office/boys room. I now personally think the room would be so much more loved if he handed it over to me to turn into a sewing room but that really isn't going to happen! He wanted a room he could both work from and wind down in so it is kind of split between a desk area and a gaming/tv area.

It still isn't finished 18 months after it was first started. It was pretty dark in here and Gray doesn't like having the curtains open so I got rid of the dark very thick curtains and replaced them with some thin grey and white striped curtains that still let in lots of light and a thicker dark pair for drawing if he wants to watch a film or something whilst it is still light outside. I want to inject some colour and brighten up the space but on a budget. I also need to find 'cool' things to put on the shelves Gray put up recently. He doesn't like buying things for the purpose of filling shelves but those almost totally bare shelves are annoying me! I've been really impressed at the choice of items from George Home since they relaunched, the prices are great and they have some really interesting items. I am resisting the urge to buy all the Christmas themed home wear at the moment but might have to add this amazing Christmas duvet cover to my basket! Ooh la la.

I plan to move the Iron Man picture over near the television and add a noticeboard there instead though not until Gray has things he needs to put on a noticeboard, I don't want to add more blank spaces! The sofa bed has seen better days and I think the whole room would have a different feel if we went for something lighter. We saw that by adding an orange sofa in our living room the impact that just changing the sofa can have to the over all feel. I have been looking online and really love this Sofaworks Sofa. It would compliment the new curtains and the cushions I have chosen work with the buttons on the sofa. I really love the button detail, it is a really easy way of adding more colour to a room without having to change everything else. Most of the little touches already present in the room are things I have added, I even managed to get some plants in with no complaints! I am trying to make it more of a bright functional space and less of a man cave. Any suggestions gratefully received!
