Thankful things Sunday came a day early

I took the new Mizuno Wave Sayonara’s for a spin. After running in my newly beloved Hitogami’s I could feel a difference in weight & support. I’ll be doing a full review after I put some more miles on them, but so far they are firmer and a stability shoe compared to the Wave Rider.

I had to show them the beach for the first time and ate some hills for second breakfast. I think they were impressed.

The other day I had the pleasure of speaking to a man who was using a walker on his way to see the doctor. He had to stop to catch his breath so I chatted with him before I got the door. He told me he has congestive heart failure & has a tough time walking.

I’m proud of him for not giving up. I also wish I could thank him for reminding me to be thankful for the ability to run.

I also want to thank my cowboy for supporting my crazy running adventures. I’ll never be an elite athlete or run Boston, but I have a genuine love for torturing myself and this man is my biggest fan.

Sometimes be believes in me more than I do myself. I am so thankful for this dude.

He pushes me to be better, speaks the truth even when I wish he’d keep his trap shut, teaches me how to defend myself, get’s up early to drive me to races then waits at the finish line to be my photographer & cheer me on. The boy doesn’t put up with my crap, comes back with something even more offensive than I said, which is always entertaining and loves coffee as much as I do. Still can’t believe I get to do this life thing with him. Yeah cowboy, you’re stuck with me. Good luck with that.

So for those who build us runners up, cheer us on, wake up at the butt crack of dawn to wait hours for us to cross the finish line and be our personal paparazzi, take care of the kiddos, tell us when we actually need to go for a run, never doubt our abilities or dreams even when they are a bit crazy, and everyone else who believes supports the sport we love…

Who is your biggest fan?

What are you thankful for today?
