Countdown to the Olympics is on – only 22 more days!

In my first Olympic post I had a great giveaway for an Olypmic Prize Pack, full of amazing Canada outdoor gear, and I also mentioned how Yoplait was a proud supporter of our Canadian Athletes. I also mentioned how my family gears up for the Olympics by downloading a schedule ahead of time and highlighting all the events we want to watch. This year, however, is going to be even better because we got our very first PVR so we can now record all of our favorite events and watch them together. How exciting…..we won’t miss a single gold medal win!

This time I want to share with you an amazing “virtual” feature General Mills, who is a proud sponsor of our Canadian athletes, has added to some of their products. This virtual feature is on some of their specially marked boxes of Cheerios Cereals, Oatmeal Crisp Cereals, Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Reese® Puffs, Nature Valley granola bars, Gushers and Fruit by the Foot. Now you can interact virtually with our Canadian athletes and get into the Olympic spirit!

All you have to do to access this feature is to download the Blippar App with your Apple or Android phone/tablet and watch your box jump right off the screen! This app lets you read about some of the athletes, take your photo with them and even play some fun winter games. What a cool and interactive way to learn about our Canadian athletes!

My kids loved this new feature and thought the interactive games were lots of fun. The only thing is, they’re trying to scan every box in our house now! Sorry kids, it only works on General Mills specially marked boxes!
