Skirting Around In Skorts

It may be wet and windy in Sydney at the moment, but I will always favour skirts, shorts and dresses over pants any day. For the past week, rain has dampened our streets (and moods!), and if you could wield an umbrella gracefully whilst fumbling with bags, books and coffee, I salute you.

Cooped up inside, I clicked onto my favourite bloggers where they were all enjoying the Northern Hemisphere summer, and noticed that it's not all about skirts and shorts this year. In fact, one of the major hit pieces this year was the ZARA Mini Skort.

Skort? Yes, skirt from the front, and shorts from the back. I remember when I used to wear these for school, except that they were called "culottes" and far less stylish.

The skort is designed with an "origami" wrap demonstrating edgy exaggerated asymmetrical cuts and layers, breaking free from the traditional up and down skirt form. This skort is really great to wear with both heels and flats as well as boots or flip flops. Depending on where you are going you can dress up or dress down.
