NOW: XXBC – COLLECTION TWO

It feels really good to see the second collection of my friends Alex and Will finally out. We often forget how difficult it can be for young designers to finance and produce new work while maintaining a specific aesthetic and quality. Since launching XXBC in 2012, things have gotten undeniably better.
Their Collection Two marks a departure from their now classic patchwork sweatshirts, introducing a new technique, custom-made striped fabrics (colored fleece grey sweatshirt fabrics, all completely made in NYC as always) and for the first time, new styles (track jackets, vests and tank tops).
I particularly love how they play with early 90’s hiphop icons (Fubu and co.) digging into the current ghetto trend in own their terms but giving it a chic note with thick jerseys and sophisticated constructions.
XXBC Collection is available exclusively at Opening Ceremony NY and LA stores and online.
