The New Infallible Lip

After acquiring some of the old Infallible lipsticks from Cosmetic Fairy (just 99p here) and loving them I was disappointed to hear they’d been discontinued. What they’ve been replaced with is such an old school concept but I want to give them a go more to review than anything else. I actually managed to snag these two in my first You Beauty box (watch the video on that here, subscribe here) so I don’t mind so much that I don’t love them because I paid considerably less than the RRP but had I paid £10 for each of them I’d have been massively disappointed.

I initially swatched them on my hand and was super impressed, they seemed to be stuck there and even after scrubbing they didn’t budge for days and days. Unfortunately that doesn’t translate well to the lips, the outside line is pretty indelible but the inner lip area wears away quickly and the product generally feels dry and uncomfortable. I don’t know why they’d replace something that used to work (the lipstick) with something that just isn’t as good. I’m sure I can’t be the only one that feels this way.

It’s a 2 part system so the liquid lipstick goes on first and the balm on the other end helps keep it looking glossy and hydrated – in theory. In reality this formula is actually a worse version of the Max Factor Lipfinity I’ve had for more than 10 years. The concept is the same and that’s not without it’s faults but at least it stays put.. this will NEED touching up and the thing I hate most is that you would have to be super vigilant and checking the mirror every 5 minutes to make sure it hasn’t worn away and doesn’t look ridiculous.
