The Travel Beauty Edit

First things first, I am completely in love with my new makeup bag from Oliver Bonas. I actually bought it from the Kings Cross store on the way HOME so it technically wasn’t my travel makeup bag but the contents are unchanged and the bag is smaller than the one I took so I’m impressed.. anything to condense things further is a bonus. I hate to travel with luggage if I can avoid it so for a night or two away I am carrying EVERYTHING in my regular handbag so the smaller the better!

A little more about the bag – it has a waterproof lining, two small pockets on the inside and the opening is framed so after unzipping it will sit open. I have to say I was expecting it to be a very basic makeup bag with a gimmicky letter on the front (oh how they know me) but it’s so well thought out, I’d definitely recommend it!

Now for what’s INSIDE the bag.. I try to keep my makeup to an absolute minimum because 1. again I’m looking to save space but also 2. I don’t want to be sitting for an age putting it all on, if I’m on holiday I want to be off doing things in the place I’ve paid to be. A very basic base of concealer and powder followed by an option of contour/highlight/blush – I would usually just throw in a mascara but i decided to give myself some eyeliner options on this trip and I did use both on alternate days. I packed this lipstick in Kinda Sexy but in my bag I was also carrying Striking Matte Balm from Revlon (which I did wear) and MAC rebel (which I didn’t) – I almost always have multiple lip options on me at all times so they don’t really count, do they?

Makeup:

And The Rest:

Skincare etc. is tougher to condense and I ended up with nothing to remove my eye makeup but the body oil doubled as a hair oil and the rest served me well.. all but for the deodorant which smelled not so great.. wouldn’t recommend that! I took Embryolisse to try for the first time and loved it so that was a nice surprise but everything else was tried and tested.. just smaller. If you have ever had a beauty box subscription you should never need to take any full sized toiletries items anywhere! I have a draw full of miniatures I go to whenever I will be away from home, initially I hated the overflowing small containers but now it feels like shopping my stash, I like it.

You can watch me ramble about these products in a video here

How do you condense your travel beauty bits?
