Thankful November - Day 3 | Upward Not Inward

Chasing Happy is hosting The Thankful Project, dishing out planned prompts to display gratitude all the way through Thanksgiving. I find it difficult to pass up celebrating a clump of days on the calendar reserved for gratitude, appreciation, and the slowed pace of recognizing the beauty and blessing before me.

That said, hello day three. {a place}

It doesn't matter how old you are, when you are a Momma's Girl home is where your momma is. And me - I'm a momma's girl through and through. The place I am choosing for today's prompt is back home.
I'm thankful back home is:

where my momma is
where two gorgeous blondies call me Aunt Falen

where you never have to knock
where all the family lives
where buckeyes, Mikesells, and Esther Price are familiar foods
where everyone knows your dirt and still loves you
where Mamaw and Papaw are
where I learned my first Bible verse
where I grew up
where the fridge is always open
where you don't have to pay to get in the pool
where I became a mom and learned to be a mom
where you always run into someone you know at the store
where strawberry cake isn't just strawberry cake
where there is never a shortage of hope
where fart jokes are always funny
where Christmas trees and Christmas lights are too numerous to count

where cousins are everywhere
where you buy groceries at Kroger
where photo album looking takes hours
where inside jokes are innumerable
where love is never absent
where my now husband taught me how to drive
where just being there is a good time

where I will be this Christmas!!
