Shopping For A Fascinating Fascinator

OMG, how much fun are these fascinators? I’m always looking for an excuse to wear one of these fabulous headpieces so when an invite to the Saratoga Race Course landed in my inbox I was geeked. I wasted no time in hunting down a head dresser in my quest to find the perfect look for a day at the races.

Kontinue for my shopping experience with the girls and the quest to find the perfect fascinator

I’m a fascinator kind of gal. If I could, I would wear them all the time. A couple years ago I hosted a Fascinator Ladies Who Brunch for my birthday requiring my gal pals to wear their most girly dresses and a fascinator to match- of course I was the only one that showed up dressed for the occasion. I’ve been meaning to do that again but in the meantime I’m so excited about my trip to The Saratoga Race Course with America’s Best Racing. This isn’t my first time spending a day at the races and with the same dress code as my birthday brunch and I intend to show up and show out this time around.

To prepare for the event I connected with Head Dresser Dora Marra who invited the girls and I to her Chelsea Market space to try on a few fascinators for size.

I kind of love this bird fascinator. I call it “One Few Over the Coo Coo’s Nest”. It reminds of something Sarah Jessica Parker Carrie Bradshaw would wear.

Just call me a Southern Belle in this little mesh / veil number.

I also really love this exaggerated bow headpiece and am contemplate adding it to the kloset just because an wearing it with and and everything.

“Let’em Eat Cake”
As fascinating as she Ty is, she wasn’t really into the fancy headpieces. She’s not your fascinator kind of girl. On the other hand, Christen was in her GLORY. The more fabulous and ornate the head piece, the more in love she fell. Needless to say, when it was all said and done, the two of use got Ty into the whole experience.

Needless to say, we had a blast trying on fascinators in Dora’s Shop. I can’t wait for you all to see which ones we all picked out for a day at the races on Staturday. I’ll be doing a recap post but if you want to know before then be sure to follow me on Instgram where I’m sure to be posting pictures throughout the day.

Get into these fascinators and check out Dora’s Space in the Artist And Fleas Market within Chelsea Market on the corner of 15th Street and 10th Avenue or check out her shop on Etsy. She has more than just fascinators, including floral head crowns, flapper head pieces and tons more.
