Public toilet Survival guide

I hate public toilets and I would rather hold on for an inhuman amount of time than use one. But sometimes I cave. Sometimes I can’t hold on indefinitely. Sometimes I am weak.

Public toilet Survival guide

  • Go to a perfume counter and spritz yourself with your favourite scent. This will create a cloud of pleasant odours around you
  • Take a big breath before you enter the toilets and hold for as long as you can
  • Go to the first toilet cubicle. I heard a report once that this is the one most people avoid, therefore it should be slightly cleaner that the rest
  • check for skin marks and pee drops. If there is any sign of either, abort immediately!
  • check for toilet paper and a working lock

  • use a clean piece of toilet paper to wipe the seat, just in case. This also get rid of that crunch up piece of toilet paper on the end of the roll that the stranger before you grabbed (yuck)
  • hang your bag on the hook. If there is no hook then you must either leave on your shoulder or clutch with your chin. Under no circumstances should you ever place it on the floor
  • lower or lift your clothes making sure nothing touches the ground. This might be difficult if you are holding your purse with your chin, but who doesn’t love a challenge
  • I’d like to suggest hovering above the toilet while you do you business. This is a great butt & thigh workout too. Multi-tasking!
  • If you are doing a number two, a few well timed sneezes could be helpful to cover any loud, unladylike splashes
  • Since you have already used toilet paper to wipe the toilet, you know the next portion is untouched by strangers hands. Finish up and wash your hands – twice. Dry them well
  • When your hands are clean, avoid touching the tap and door on the way out. Use a paper towel
  • Before leaving the bathroom, double check you haven’t tucked your skirt up or have toilet paper trailing from your heel

Which cubicle do you usually chose?
