When I started my blog on Tuesday's I would write about accessories trends and on Thursday's I would write about apparel trends. While this was a blast I felt pigeonholed that on certain days I had to post about certain things so I threw that restriction out the preverbal window. However, last March I wrote a Thursday Trend post about
Florals for Spring and quoted the now infamous line, "Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking" from The Devil Wears Prada. Well it is not revolutionary but every year as the weather warms up I love adding pops of floral to encourage the real flowers to make an appearance. These are my favorite floral finds from this season:
Alice By Temperley Clover Dress /
Mawi Floral Crystal Ring /
Milly Embellished Knit T-Shirt Seafolly Summer Garden Convertible Bikini Top /
Ted Baker Floral Jewelry Roll Ted Baker Floral Print Pumps /
BCBGMAXAZRIA Peter Pan Collar Necklace /
Pink Peony Faux Flowers Flora Gucci Perfume /
Alexander McQueen Embroidered Knuckle Clutch /
J.Crew Floral Foulard Short No, flowers are not ground breaking but they sure are pretty and even those peonies would be sure to bright up my desk at work. Moving from florals this season you have pastels. Pastel everywhere. From the peeps on top of the donuts at Dunkin' to on the racks of every single store I have entered in the last three weeks.
Huffpost Style aptly named this pastel the "it" color of the season and I could not agree more. They adorned most of the spring runways, Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, Rebecca Taylor shown above, and the sugary-sweet colors are perfect for pushing the black to back of my closet! I have had my eye on items in a confection of pastel shades from buttercup yellows, powder blues to pistachio greens and peachy pinks.
