Unconventional Bridal Style

Fashion designer Whitney Port tried on wedding dresses for the first time and Who What Wear got the exclusive. The editorial written by Jessica Baker stated, “With racks full of gorgeous gowns at her disposal, Port immediately gravitated toward the unexpected silhouettes, specifically a matching top and skirt set…” A woman after my own heart. Port was quoted saying, “I don’t feel like weddings need to be by the book.” She considers herself to be “a more modern bride,” and I feel quite the same.

From Carrie Bradshaw’s City Hall suit, Leandra Medine of Man Repeller in platform sneakers and a motorcycle jacket, to the latest court room wedding with Olivia Palermo in unconventional bridal style, women in fashion today continue to break all the rules. Which brings me to my fantasy wedding day. I’ve dreamt up all these ideas in the past, but I realized I would be a modern bride as well. Tuxedo modern, perhaps. What kind of bride would you be?
