Healthy skin is the foundation for flawless makeup application, says Allana Mirza, a Toronto-based makeup artist known as MakeupLady.ca. And my go-to makeup artist! (She did an impeccable job on my wedding day.)

I went on a bridal shoot with Allana to find out how she combines skincare with makeup on set to achieve an illuminating complexion on model. The look called for was glowing skin with a classic red lip.
