Inside the December 2013 Birchbox and January 2014 Birchbox
December 2013 Birchbox —
A few notes —
I finally used one of the hair masks today and while it did leave my hair soft and my curls defined, it left a waxy residue on my hair after I rinsed it out. Luckily, that waxiness seems to have disappeared now that my hair is dry, but I’m hoping that my hair doesn’t feel heavy or weighed down tomorrow morning.
The Mally lip color didn’t work for me, unfortunately, but it is a pretty color. I just don’t wear nudes well. Instead, I gave it to my sister who has a slightly deeper complexion than me and it seems to work on her just fine.
I was not (!) a fan of the candle included in the box. It smelled far too soapy, not regular soap, but those generic strongly perfumed hotel soaps that just kinda give you a headache. Yeah, no.
January 2014 Birchbox —
A few notes —
From those swatches alone, the Coastal Scents eye shadows look gorgeous. I can’t wait to use them! This sample is great because it isn’t limited to just one eye shadow and provides an ample amount of product to use.
I previously owned the Burt’s Bees moisturizer and it broke me out so bad, so I definitely won’t be using that sample.
I’m always eager to try new shampoos and conditioners, so I’m excited to use these from Fekkai.
